Mixed by Konstantin Kersting (Mallrat, Tones & I), ‘Taxi’ features performances by McCartney’s main musical collaborator - Ian Peres (Matt Corby, Ruel, Jarryd James), the track chronicles the last moments on a night out, just before the ugly lights come on and people are pairing off. It’s that familiar feeling of hoping that tonight’s the night. It’s an anthem to all those single folk who’ve slogged out iso on their own.
Threaded throughout with Saxophone by Jesse Green, who McCartney sites as the ‘Bleeding Gums Murphy’ of his scene - the quintessential tormented sax player, who's performance ties together the sleaze, the sophistication of the track. Not content with stopping Green's heroin-chic sax duties, the EP also includes a solely instrumental version of comprised of outtakes from the sax session.
All songs from the Taxi EP will be available everywhere on the 15.05.2020.
